- son of THOMAS VERRY & MARY KEW of Reading Berkshire, immigrants into Wakefield, Nelson on the CLIFFORD arriving 11th May 1842 with their children:
Charles Verry aged 20 (died by drowning in Wakefield 1864)
John erry aged 18
Mary Ann Verry age 12
Charlotte Verry aged 10

- George was born in Reading, Berkshire
- he married Martha Gibbs, when he was 31

murray_laugesen on 2011-01-26 01:20:50Edith Annie Verry married John Rainforth from Enfield Otago, a butter factory manager and later a builder, of Palmerston North (Rainforth St is named after him) and lived most of her life at 97 Russell St Palmerston North. They both died about 1948 and would have been buried in Terrace End Cemetery in Palmerston North. They were my maternal grandparents. Edith was much involved in the Methodist Church.

Edith Anne RAINFORD (nee VERRY) died on 2 January 1947 aged 70
- she had been living at 97 Russell St, Palmerston North
- she is buried in Plot 023 - BLock 012 - Area C at Kelvin Grove
John RAINFORTH died on 24 January 1948 aged 74
- he was a builder at 97 Russell St, Palmerston North
- he is buried with Edith
