OBITUARY of Vincent Harold Dentice
... The death occurred yesterday of Mr Vincent Harold Dentice, of the firm of Messrs Whiteacre, Dentice and Co., land agents, at his residence, 5 Dufferin Street, at the age of 51 years. The late Mr Dentice was born in Wellington and educated at the Newtown School. He was a member of the Wellington Trotting Club and of the Miramar Golf Trotting Club and of the Miramar Golf Club. He was also a member of St Andrew's Masonic Lodge.
The late Mr Dentice is connected with a very old Wellington family, the same as that after which Dixon Street is named, and his maternal grandmother was one of the first white twins born in New Zealand, The twins married brothers. The Dixon family in the early days, produced the "Independent" newspaper.
Mr George H. Dixon of Wellington was the manager of the 1905 All Black team
Mr Dentice is survived by four brothers, all of Wellington
