Vogt & DeRuntz - Alsace to Missouri
Englebert (1847-1902)& Anastasia Marxer Vogt came to America from the Goldbach region of Alsace, France, in 1872 with their 1 year old son, Robert, arriving in NY aboard the clipper ship Helvetia, eventually settling in the Carondolet area of St. Louis, MO. Shortly after arriving, Anastasia died from blood poisoning. Englebert employed his neighbor Emily DeRuntz (1851-1934) to care for Robert while he worked. Emily's family had immigrated from Alsace, France, in 1865 arriving in NY aboard the clipper ship Cella.
Englebert and Emily married about 1874 and eventually moved their family to King's Prairie, Barry County, MO, where they had purchased land for 25 cents an acre.

i am interested in the information on Emile Vogt would you be able to send mr more information on him. I am awaiting information from the StandesAmt in Schwelm to be sent so i can see if they are connected or are actually the same person. thanks
Emile Vogt was born to Englebert and Emily Vogt in Kings Prairie, Barry Co., MO in 1893. He was my granduncle. My grandfather was Eugene Vogt born in 1887. I don't know any more about Englebert's ancestry. The information about their location in France comes from a copy of Robert Vogt's birth certificate. Robert is the son of Englebert and Mary Anastasia Marxer Vogt.
thanks for the information but unfortunately the Emile Vogt is not the one I am looking for. He is friedrich Emil Vogt born on the 11/8/1895 Schwelm, kreis wuppertal due to receiving a letter from germany giving me the correct date of birth. he was a Presser during 1927 and lived in Banhhof strasse in Schwelm itself. Thanks again for the information and i guess the search is still on.
