WATT family of Aberdeenshire
Hi
My grandfather, Peter Watt was born in Alford on 8 March 1887 and came to Australia with his wife Isabella Kennedy in 1912 settling in Melbourne Australia. Peter's father was coachman for Lord Forbes circa 1900, living on the Forbes Estate Keig Aberdeenshire. Earlier Watt ancestors came from Kildrummy and Glenbuchat Aberdeenshire.
I would like to make contact with anyone with Watt, or Michie ancestors, from Glenbuchat, Badenyon and surrounding areas of Aberdeenshire, or Australia
regards
John

Hi John,
My Great, great, great, great, great grandfather was John Watt (1782-1835) from Aberdeenshire Scotland who married Mary Michie (1786-1800). Their son William had a son John, who had a son William John, who had a son William John who's son Kenneth Watt was my grandfather.
I have just started researching the Watt family. How are you related?
Regards
Michelle
Hi Michelle
While I am directly descendant from the Watt family and I have a large number of Michie family members in my tree I cannot find a link to the names you mentioned in your letter. If I find any connection I will let you know.

John
my husbands mother was Joyce Watt and came down the line from John Watt/Mary/Margaret Michie, there son JAMES MICHIE WATT m Jane Douglas, had a EDWIN OLIVER who had a son EDWIN STANLEY and she was there daughter.. Im a bit muddles with the Michies as I think John Watt could have been James and Mary could have been Margaret, would love to hear from either of you tqo. Michelle, I also cannot find KENNETH on my list of WATT.

Hi Carol
I have had a look at my family tree to see if there is a family connection either for the Watt or Michies. Unfortunately I cannot find any connection. My Watt and Michies relations come from Aberdeenshire mostly around the Kildrummy, Glenbuchat, Alford and Strathdon areas.

John
Mary Michie was from Aberdenshire and so was John Watt, I have Mary Michie out of William Michie & Janet Gregorson and his father was Alexander Michie 1711.
Hi
I apologise for the delay in responding but I cannot find a family connection.

John
