I am researching the Wheatleys of Somerset, Maryland on the Eastern Shore. My grandfather, William A Wheatley,1869-1928, at one time was an oysterman and also sailed on commercial ships to the Carribean. I would love to find out more about his career at sea. He was no longer sailing when he married my grandmother and died in 1928 when my mom was a child, so I don't have any specifics.
