Where is my family

I have been trying to do a family tree of my Surname and have come up blank so far. I have my fathers name. It is Ian or John sometimes he used one or the other. He died in 1973 and I never knew him. he has a sister named Marion. Hos father was William Lawrence and his Mother MArgret Ann. The came to Australia in 1929 when he was about 4 years old.
I know that the Hepburn name goes back a long way and I want to see how far I can trace it back. I traced my mothers family name back to about 1150

Thank you for the reply and taking the time to find that information.
Sorry to say, no it is not my family. From what I remember my mother telling me, my father arrived here when he was about 4, and his sister about 7. I recently tracked down and contacted a cousin I have never met, the son of Marion, my fathers sister, and he confirmed the approximate ages of their arrival here in Adelaide. Just last Friday I received in the post some extra information from him and some photographs. He also gave me the name of my great grandfather, William Gordon Hepburn born about 1869. His mother had some old documents that hopefully give the date of birth of William Gordon, and William Lawrence. W.G.H was evidently born September 5 1869, and W.L.H was born on August 29 1896
