Where Thomas Slade Peters got his middle name

Journal by SLPH

He was born in Derby in 1869. His parents were Philip Peters (born in 1837 at Newport Gwent Monmouthshire) and Mary Ann Swainger.

Mary Ann Swainger was born in 1843 at Painswick Gloucestershire to Charity Slade and Joseph Swainger (sometimes spelt Swanger)

Charity Slade was born in 1775 or 1777 in Wiveliscombe, Somerset Devon and was christened at Fivehead or Finehead Somerset. Her parents according to Genealogy.com were David Slade and Betty Robbins.

The interesting thing is that descendents of all Slades from John Slade of Maunsell House in Somerset are descended from Thomas Arundell of Wardour (born c 1595) who because of his valiant deeds was pronounced by Emperor Rudolph 2nd (Turkish)by a unique decree to be Count of the Holy Roman Empire---whatever that may be!!!!

Further back in the lineage are Philip 3rd of France, Henry 3rd of England and Ferdinand 3rd of Spain. Impressive eh? I came across this info surfing the net for Slades. Someone has compiled this looking for the Neville family who are also descended from Thomas Arundell.
