William C Thompson, 1775-1864 Lee County, Virginia

Journal by lynneallentate

I am trying to find the connection of William C Thompson, born in Montgomery Co., Va., married Elizabeth Thorpe, d/o William Thorpe in Franklin Co., Va in 1805. Resided in Lee County, Va., for most of his adult life. From recent DNA results, there seems to be a strong connection of my William C to Electious Thompson of Maryland. I don't think Electious could be his father, as most of his children were born in Alabama. I do strongly suspect that Electious' brother may be William's father. If anyone can shed some light on this mystery, your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Lynne

William C was born, most likely in Montgomery Co, NC, as he states in 1850 census (NC). Electious was in Montgomery Co, NC in 1790 census, aa were several other Thompsons.Any hints?

I am looking for ancestors realated to Thomas William Thompson, my grand father. His fathers name is Eliod Thompson. I was hoping there might be a connection with "william or Bill" My granfather settled in Malvern, Ohio and was born in early 1900's

I am not familiar with this branch of Thompson's. I know that Electious had children in Kentucky, as did William C Thompson, so having relatives in the 1900's in Ohio isn't that far a stretch. William's sons that moved to Kentucky were Jackson Thompson and Alfred Thompson. William died while visiting relatives in Owsley Co KY. I have found out since this post, that William was born in Montgomery Co, NC, not Virginia. Electious was there in the 1790 census, as were four other Thompsons. Still have not discovered William's father, but narrowing down the search. Let me know if I can help with anything further.
