Since many records were lost in church fires and many people were known by there second names, some assumptions have to be made.
William James May is most likely the son of William Thomas May(known as Thomas) and his first wife Elizabeth. Born in Twillingate. I am descended from Thomas and his third wife Julia.
William Thomas May(born in 1821 in Twillingate) was the son of William and Clara May.
William (of William and Clara) was the son of fisherman William May in Twillingate in 1804 and most likely from southern England (the name William May shows in Plymouth at that time).
