Williamson of Shetland

I am looking for information on my Williamson ancestors from the Shetland Islands. They came to New Zealand in 1873.
My Great grandfather Jeremiah Williamson was one year old at the time.
His parents were Henry and Jane Williamson (born Hunter).
I think they lived in Tingwall.

andreakrolfe on 2011-03-07 22:18:57thanks for your response, I feel they didn't exist sometimes. I have just googled the Shetland papers and discovered that they started publishing after my family left shetland. Hmmm, where to from now, I will keep looking.
gronz3 on 2012-02-05 01:26:48Hi, not sure if this is of any help. My great-grandparents were Peter and Agnes Williamson from Ollaberry, their family emigrated in stages from around 1905. They settled in Gisborne, and Peter and Agnes are both buried there, as are several of their offspring.
