Wilson County Texas Enslaved Ancestors

Journal by misslou

I have been a researcher for many years, active in many genealogy societies and activities. Formerly lived in Texas, Illinois, and currently Nevada. Successfully found one enslaved ancestor (Moses JOHNS) prior to 1870. Have had a DNA test.

My primary surnames are WALKER, EDWARDS, WILLIAMS, RUSSELL, McDANIEL, JOHNS, and GIBBONS. The geographical area is the south Texas counties of Wilson, Bexar, Guadalupe, Hayes, and Karnes. Time frame about 1850 to the present. My brick walls are my enslaved ancestors prior to the 1870 U.S.census of population.
