Thursday 21 January 1892 - MARRIAGE - at Church of Epihany, Ormondville, by Rev Canon WEBB, Winter, only son of Robert FUSZARD of Hastings to Elizabeth, second daughter of W. H. & Mary Ann BEALE

... On Thursday the many friends of Mr and Mrs Beale, of Ormondville, assembled in the Church of the Epiphany to witness the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Beale to Mr Winter Fuszard, of Hastings. The bride was becomingly dressed without any attempt at mere show, nor were the bridesmaids behind hand in the matter of dress. Canon Webb conducted the service, Mr W. H. Beale, the bride`s father, gave her away. Misses Ellen and Alice Tucker, Louise Groom, and Louise Beale acted s bridesmaids. After the ceremony the party met for luncheon at the residence of the bride`s parents and in the evening about 50 friends kept up the wedding in the Town Hall, dancing till about 2.30am on Friday, Mr Bealem junr., supplied the music

24 December 1898 - CHRISTMAS - One of the most striking Christmas shows in town will be found in the window of the bottle and family department of Mr S. Charlton`s Criterion Hotel. Bottles containing liquors of every description and of many sizes and hues, are most artistically arranged, numerous brightly colored flags and oter ornaments are profusely and harmoniously sprinkled, and the whole effect is particularly and brilliantly pretty. The window was dressed by one of Mr Charlton`s assistants, Mr Winter Fuszard, and great credit is due to that gentleman for the skill and taste he has displayed

1908 - Mr. Winter H. Fuszard, proprietor of the Fernhill Hotel, was born in Jersey, Channel Islands, in the year 1869, and came to New Zealand as a child, with his parents, in the ship Queen of the North, landing in Napier. He was subsequently engaged for fifteen years in the Criterion Hotel, Napier, and gained further experience in the same lusiness in Hastings, before acquiring the Fernhill Hotel

In 1900 at the time she married George she was Thea Henrietta Sutherland, but on the death Certificate of his daughter, Myra Amelia Jane WINTER (Ferris), Thea's maiden name was said to be Thorbjorgensen)
