Samuel Morris (b. abt 1815) of Craven Co., NC

I am looking for information about Samuel W. Morris, husband of Marion Ives (b. 1821) from Craven Co., NC. Samuel and Marion had 3 children, Joseph A. (b. 1846), John (b. 1848), and Mary Ann )b. 1852). I cannot find Samuel's parents, siblings, or other family members.

This is my stonewall. Can you help me with it?

Thank-you for any help you can give me,
Mary Morris Bishop

Looking for members of Morris or Riggs families of Pamlico/Craven county North Carolina.

Hello, I am mmbishop, a retired educator from Michigan. I started doing genealogical research a months ago after retiring in June, 2007. I have found more than I ever expected and am definitely bitten by the "genealogical research bug". I am currently looking for information about my father's family (Morris and Riggs from Pamlico county/craven county, North Carolina). My great-great-grandfather was Samuel Morris (g-g-grandmother, Marian Morris). They were born about 1815 to 1825 in North Carolina, I believe. Another great-great-grandfather was Jessie L. Riggs (wife, Patsy Jones Riggs). THey were born about 1820 to 1830, probably in North Carolina. They all were likely from the area of Craven/Beaufort/Pamlico counties.

If you have any info on these people or anyone likely related, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Otherwise, good hunting. This genealogical research is fun, fun, fun.

NOW FOR THE BIG QUESTION. I found a listing for my paternal great-grandmother's family that led back to the year AD 6. This came from ancestry. com. First I got several lines back to 1540, 1350, and 870. Then the site disappeared for a few days and reappeared with info stretching back to AD 6. Have any of you had this experience with ancestry. com? The original info appeared probable, but the newly added entries... ?

Thanks for setting up this great site!

Mary

Looking for Morris of Bayboro, North Carolina

My grandfather, Joseph Morris(b. 1876), left me a list of his grandparents', Samuel and Marian Morris and Jesse and Patsy Jones Riggs; his parents', Joseph and Sarah Ann Riggs Morris; and his siblings' names and dates of birth/death. The siblings were Abott, John A., Martha F., Mattie A., Daisy B., Mabel L., Charles Andrew, Jesse S., Samuel J., McKinley, and William B. The family lived in Bayboro, North Carolina until the children grew up and scattered, mostly across North Carolina. I am looking for information about cousins who might have information about the family that I do not have. I will be happy to share anything I have learned or remember from my grandfather.
