Bennie L. Phifer III, has been a genealogy researcher since 1993, and a National Underground Railroad Freedom Center FamilySearch Center Genealogical Senior Consultant since its opening in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2004. He is a member of 10 different Genealogical/Historical Societies and has been written about in both newspaper articles and most recently Spotlighted at the afrigeneas.com genealogical web site.

Professionally he has been involved in law enforcement since 1972, in positions ranging from being a Deputy Sheriff, Undercover Narcotics Officer, Juvenile & Adult Probation Officers and since 1993, has been the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Regional Fraud Investigations Manager for PNC Bank, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
