Bio

Kayellen was born in Texas. Age abt. 50

My "Stakes" line travels back to 1799 in Accomack, Virginia. Where we find Johannas/Johannes Stakes. Son of Elijah Stakes and unknown mother.

Johannas/Johannes Stakes married Anne(Nancy Ann)Parker in Accomack Virginia in 1799.

Anne Parker was the daughter of 1st Lt. Richard Parker acting commander of the Diligence Galley. 1st Lt. Richard Parker died 11/11/1811. His other daughter was Mary Ann Parker Chandler, wife of Edmund Chandler.

Johannes Stakes and Nancy "Anne" Parker, Stakes had 2 known children in 1811 according to "History of Virginia's Navy in the Revolution" page 223. The children were Henry and James Stakes.

Henry Parker Stakes married Hester Lamb of New York about 1830-1982. They lived in Pidgeon Township, Vanderbaugh County Indiana in 1850 where they are listed on the census and have 6 of their 7 children.

This family relocated to Vermillion Parish Louisiana between 1850 and 1860 where they are listed with their 7 children.

Their son, Richard P Stakes married Modeste Benoit. They raised 6 children that I have documented. Family lore says there was 10.

Their son, Maurice (Morris) Richard Stakes married Emma Boulet in Acadia Paris. They had 7 children and eventually moved to Houston Texas. Richard P. leaves for parts unknown in the 1930's and is not heard from again.

Their son Lovell married Lillie and they had 2 children.

That's where I began.
