Stockleys in Australia.

It seems I have a lot of stockley ancestors in England but i am struggling to find any real leads. my great grandfather came here with his wife, my grandad and my great uncle in 1928. I have gone back a little way to Thomas William Stockley b 1845 in Brentford, England and he died 13 Nov 1934.
He was married to Emma Richardson. this makes thomas my 5 generations great grandad. I would love to know as much as possible about my stockly family. What I do know is that we all seem to be from london area. esp Brentford.. There is also one of my great great uncles - James Attle Stockley who immigrated to Canada and served in a number of battles and wars. According to his war file he was heavily tattooed. If you have anyone from thhis line in your family tree please contact me via email.. kyliefamilytree@hotmail.com

Stephen Waldron

I am a waldron descendant. I have traced us back to 1495. I also have the waldron family history book. The end of the book talks about Stephen waldron and his wife Elizabeth Walker. It does not say how they are related to us though. I would love some information on this.

Stephen was born 02/10/1807 in Castle Bromwick Aston Parish, St Philip, Birmingham, Warwick, England. He died in South Brisbane, Australia in 20/05/1888. Buried in the Toowong Cemetery

His wife was Elizabeth Waldron(nee Walker)She was born 1813 and died on 05/07/1865 at Jane Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

They were married in Warwickshire, England UK on 10/05/1836.

They had 6 children. I have all the info on the family but cannot figure out the connection. There must be one otherwise why would they be in our family bible?

Any info would be great

James Fisher and Mary Ann Welch

Seeking any and all information on my 5 generations, great great great grand parents James Fisher and Mary Ann Welch.

Married 27 Jul 1857, Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England, UK

They had 4 children. i have the descendants all recorded but have hit a wall trying to find there ancestry. I hope there is someone else out there looking for them too. Please contact me!!

Albert Ernest Chauntler Puttock

My great great grandfather.

To start, let's talk name. It seems that this is one of those names that has been lost in translation one to many times. Some records have Chaunntler, Chantler, Chauntler, Chaunnter, Chaunter, Chanter. I was always raised that he was Chauntler Puttock.

Albert was born 15/09/1875 in Streatham, England, UK. He was a man of wealth.

25/12/1897 He married my great great grandmother, Gertrude Smith at St. Pauls Cathedral in London.

They only had one child together. This being my great grandmother Lillian Gertrude Chauntler Puttock. Lillian married George Robert Stockley at St George, Old Brentford, England on 23 Apr 1921.

Albert was a "well to do" man. So when his wifes brother, Percy was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, Albert agreed to pay and take Percy to South Africa to the TB camp for treatment. So he left his wife and new baby and accompanied Percy.

Sometime after Percy was healed of the disease and returned home but Albert never ever did. Gertrude died a few months later of Tuberculosis.

So what became of Albert??? I beleive he married a woman in South Africa and lived there til he died.

I would love information on him especially date of death and grave?

I figure he must have known Gertrude was sick so he left to South Africa to avoid being stuck as a widow with a baby.

Due to Albert vanishing and Gertrudes death Lily was raised by her grandparents, Robert john Smith (b1843) and Eliza Smith(Nee Filby b. 8 Feb 1847)

Any information on them would be wonderful.

Jessie Rachel Ann Thornton part 2

So what DO I know from my researching that could aide in the finding of her grave.

Jessie was born 18/10/1898. Her birth certificate says she was born in Moss Vale, Killarney, QLD. Her parents are Robert Thornton Lightfoot (1852 - 04/03/1933) and Sarah Annie Clara Lightfoot (Nee Dawson) Jessies parents met and were married in Glen Innes on 22/02/1893

Jessie had 3 brothers. Robert Charles, George Edward and Albert Graham John.

She attended Killarney State School and was registered 18/01/1904
There is no name of parent. Just says occupation is Carpenter. Her siblings also attended the school and the their dad, Robert, was listed as parent, and as a carpenter.

Her religion was Church of England

she attended school on and off until 1908.

My next information on her is that she married a man named Francis Thomas Slatter. I have a large amount of information on him and his family. They married 14 May 1921, Allora QLD, Australia.

Jessie then had 3 sons.
Arthur was born 18 Dec 1922
Frank was born 19 Dec 1924
Albert was born in 1925

On the electoral roll in both 1925 and 1930.

In 1925 her address is different to that of her husbands.

Sometime between 1928 -1930 she left her family. Never seeing her sons again

I have a QLD police gazette report, of a theft taking place on Ford street allora. A Mr Leslie Devereaux was wanted as an identified Suspect for the theft of 2 sulky wheels and personal possesions. Says that he was beleived to be in the company of Jessie Rachel Slatter who was wanted for dessertion of her family. The theft took place on 12/12/1930.

The last information I have on her is on her fathers death certificate it says living children and all 4 children are accounted for as living. So jessie is obviously listed as being alive. This was in March of 1933.

There are so many theories about what could have, might have and should have happened. What I have listed here are the actual FACTS that I have.

Any information on her life is desperately wanted as her granddaughter and I are wanting to find her.
