I am interested in links with descendants of Thomas Virtue and Margaret Dalgleish, previously of Timaru, New Zealand, who came to NZ from Galasheils, Scotland.

This relates to family history research re my great grandparents, Richard and Lilias Jamieson (nee Bruce - daughther of George Bruce, grocer and flourmiller, of Phoenix Mill, Oamaru)

Richard Jamieson emigrated to Dunedin 1881 from Galasheils,Scotland. His parents were James and Margaret Jamieson, nee Smith. His sister Margaret married Thomas Virtue Dalgleish and also came to NZ, and lived in Timaru. Their younger sister, Christina Sophia Jamieson married Thomas Hoole and they emigrated to Canada. Christina,(Aunt Tina) visited NZ from time to time.

My mother Nyra McMaster, (nee Jamieson) was born in Dunedin and had many visits to her grandparents home, Inglenouk in Drivers Rd, Maori Hill. She remembered being taken to visit relatives in Timaru and Oamaru when she was young. Her cousin Tig, John McCaig, is still alive in Dunedin, and I have some contact with Christina's descendants in Vancouver, Canada.
