I am new in the quest for finding my family's roots. My grandfather Raymond E. Jacobs was born in Georgetown, SC a about 1904. He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I have had some help and researched as far back as 1825 in Georgetown. My great, great, great grandfather was Joe or Joseph Jacobs married to Eliza {no last name given). My grandfather was a character he was dark and handsome. I asked him what I our heritage was when I was young and he said he thought we were of Lebanese or Armenian descent. I would love to go back as far as possible and would like to know if anyone has any information or could help? I would certainly appreciate it! I think it is important to know your lineage.
