FYI Indiana did not close adoption records until July of 1941. Adoptions after that date are closed unless otherwise specified. Prior to that date adoption records are open and held in circuit, probate and superior courts. I'm sure if they are open to all or just the adoptee and birth parents or siblings.
If anyone knows for sure on that, please let me know.

Anybody have any info on Myrtia Stevens of Hicksville, Ohio? Mother's name was Eliza J (I had her maiden name, but can't locate it right now) and father was Frank Stevens. She died young(in the late 1890's) and I believe she was the only child. If anyone is researching this family, please contact me as I have photos to share. I'm not sure how these came into my familys possession, other than they may have been renters of my g grandfather. I don't think I have any link to this family.

Is anyone researching the Brandyberry family of Adams County, Indiana? I am not a descendant, but have a connection. My great grandmother(Edna Laughery or Laughrey) had a child by a Brandyberry and I am not sure what happened to the child. She was married to William Brandyberry in the early 1890's and they were divorced around 1897. By 1900, there is not a child of the appropriate age living with her or him. Not sure if the child was adopted or died or passed onto a family member. Seeking any info anyone may have. Child would have been born around 1894 or 1895, divorce papers hard to read, but name appears to be Cleo. Also does not say male or female. I have yet to locate a birth record, death record, or tombstone. Would appreciate nay help.
