Looking for birth parents of Lloyd Everett Appleby

My paternal grandfather, Lloyd Evans Appleby was born Lloyd Evans, 19 Dec 1896 in Chicago, Cook, IL. He was placed with the Chicago Foundlings Home in Dec 1896. He was adopted by George Wilder and Harriet Ellen "Nellie" Appleby on 9 Sep 1897.

Dr and Mrs Appleby relocated to Bristow, Butler, IA, shortly after the adoption of Lloyd, where he grew into manhood with an adopted sister, Vere. She married first a White and had a son Donald, then married a McClellan and relocated to Lafayette, IN. I would also like to find descendants of Vere Appleby.
