My ggg-grandfather James Barker b. 28 April, 1801 is all we have that far back in the family. No parents or in-laws or siblings anywhere that we have been able to find. He was supposedly born in Cane Creek, Chatham or Orange, North Carolina. He married Anna Lewis, am unsure of the correct spelling because she was supposedly German, and we can't find any further information on her family either. We do have their children's names and birth dates, and decendants down to my grandchildren seven generations later. Does anyone out there have anything that will help me? My father has done a great deal of research, just to wind up aggravated by this stone wall he hit, and I'd like to give him more family research, back further so he can know where his father's family came from. He has his mother's side fairly extensively researched, surnames Mall and Durst.
