I have made extensive searches on William Glenn and this is what I have found. Two of William's children stated in the 1880 federal census that their father was born in Pa. Well I believe this is a mistake because he may have have been from Pittsyvania Co. Va. See how the children could have misunderstood. The reasons why I have come to this conclusion is----I was in Greenbrier Ar. and a man by the name of Hardin told me he was kin to the Glenn family, but didn't know how. Well this caused me to start checkin on people who are related to the Glenn family. I looked at people who lived by the Glenn's and by land sales. William Glenn first moved to South Carolina and bought land from Col Peter Perkins, then he moved to Franklin Co. Ga about 1790 and lived next to William Arnold. The Arnold and the Perkin families both came from the same area as Glenn family. They were also in Henrico Co. Va. I also believe William Glenn was kin to Jesse Joseph Glenn of Franklin co. Ga, just don't know the relationship. William Glenn's first child, Samuel Glenn, my gg grandfather, was first married to Elizabeth Catherine Bennett, and secondly to Julia {Allen} Fuqua. The former wife of Perry Fugua who was killed in the Civil War. The Fuqua family was from Henrico Co. Va too! Other researchers need to look at this information , and maybe they would find other facts on our Glenn family. Thanks much!

William Glenn was born in Pa. in the early 1700's. He moved to Ga. about 1790, living on Hunters Creek, just north of Carneville Ga. In 1808, Franklin Co. Ga. he married Rosanna Aaron b.1777 Amharest Co. Va. daughter of William George Aaron b. 1751 Amherst Co. Va. and Elizabeth {unknown}. William was the son of Daniel Aaron and Anne Snyder.Daniel was from Pa. and Anne was born in Germany. The Aaron family came out of Scotland. William Glenn and Rosanna Aaron's children were , Samuel, Elizabeth, Catherine, Andrew, Arminda, and William M Glenn .The Glenn family were from Scotland , but our branch may have settled in Northern Ireland about 1600. Most of our Glenn family say that they are Irish. This information goes back for at least 1oo years. Samuel Glenn b. 1810 Franklin Co. Ga. married Elizabeth Catherine Bennett. b. 1815 SC. to Capt. Hiram Bennett and Rebecca Anderson. Samuel and Elizabeth Glenn had abt. 12 children, Robert H. Glenn b. 1846, Lumpkin Co. Ga., being one of of them. He married Mary O. Edwards b. 1851, in Conway, Ar. She was the daughter of Henly Edwards b. 1709 Bute Co. NC. , and Lucinda{unknown}. Henly was the son of Thomas Edwards and Mary Mina Brittain. Robert and Mary Glenn's children are James, Samuel, Solomon, Hiram, Allie, Luther, and Claude Glenn. My grandfather, Solomon Glenn b. 1871 Faulkner Co. Ar. married married Cora Mae Green in Ardmore Ok. I.T. Their children are Robert, Birdie, Eva, Vivian, Isa, and Luther Glenn. Luther married Sarah Louise Dowdle in Ardmore Okla. 1932. They had 5 boys.
