Angas Mackcloud or Mackloud?

We are not sure of the spelling my Great-grandmother was Macloud her Father was Mackcloud or Mackloud.? but we do know My grandmother was a Ruth Eyers born 16th Aug 1867 in Yankalilla South Australia and my Grandfather Joseph Henry Reynolds was born 26 Sep 1868 in Ash by Sandwich in Kent England .
This may help someone work out the correct spelling of my Grandmothers line

Their children.

Name: Isaac EYERS.
Born: 09 March 1862, Hay Flat, South Australia.
Father: Isaac EYERS.
Mother: Marion MCLOUD.

Name: Jane EYERS.
Born: 21 January 1866, Hay Flay, South Australia.
Father: Isaac EYERS.
Mother: Marian TAYLOR. *

Name: Ruth EYERS.
Born: 16 August 1867, Tongulilla, South Australia.
Father: Isaac EYERS.

Informants registering births often gave the wrong mother's name.

You did not mention Ruth's mother was recorded as TAYLOR and thought this may be of interest to you. I also think MACKCLOUD may be a spelling error.

Thanks for this .I was told that my Grandmother Ruth could not read or write and my Grandfather taught her so all the different spellings could be because others in the family and in the area may not have be able to spell as well

Hi..my name is David Mcleod,and I am aware that many semi-literate people had their names misspelt.As a result some members of my family(Mcleod) that migrated to America finished with the name..MacLoud or Mcloud.The origin of the name comes from the Nordic "Mac" (Son of)....and Leod A Nordic Prince or Ruler.
