Hiya! I am trying to find out info on my family also. My grandmother was Olga Alley from Thames but I can't find any info I am trying to trace my Maori roots as I am Ngati Maru and would be grateful if you new anything?

hi Kerry, do you have Olga's birth date (was it 17 Dec 1918?).
Olga May Alley died 16 June 2000 aged 82
If that was her, was that her maiden or married name?.
Best to give as much info as you have to make it easier for others to recognise her

Hi Kerryn
You are apart of Ngāti Pū as my great great grandmother is Clara who is Emily’s sister.
Clara married Alfie Alley who is Charles brother
I have been fortunate enough to find a facebook group in regards to the Nicholas/Alley side of my family tree
Ngāti Pū have recently made a claim on land in the coromandel peninsula area
I hope this helps you
Jenny
Talked to mum about my Maori heritage and worked out I am 6th Generation/ descendant from the Ngāti Pu Chief Hauwhenua.
Thames-Coromandel District, Waikato.
All the women in this lineal line have all married Pūkehā men, so I only have one Maori blood running through my veins & therefore it’s still pure to the Chief - which I thought was amazing.

She Was the sister of Marara Hikri Hauwhenua who 'married Ricky Richards. They are descended from the Skye family - MacAskills of Rubha na Dunain. The McCaskills purchased thousands of acres of land in Hikuatia and were financially ruined by the subsequent disputes and sold their interests to Henry Alley a settler from Hawkes Bay.
