Eva died in Masterton Hospital on 13 May 1917 aged 33, 8 days after the birth of Leo. They were very respected in the area and her funeral was very well attended. She is buried Plot HEE, Row 8, Area Plan II at Archer St cemetery with 8 year old son John
NOTE Eva died 8 days after the birth of son Leo, 7 weeks after Bert's mother Ann died and 15 weeks after their son Jack died (aged 8)
* Bert next married Franceit Idy Brittley/Bridley in 1919
Bert died 2 Aug 1960 in Pahiatua Hospital aged 84 and was buried in Plot HED, Row 12, Area Plan VIII at Archer St, Masterton
* Bert & Eva's children and siblings married into some well-known Wairarapa family names
