Hirschel WACHSMANN from Tost, Upper Silesia, Germany
I have a very old family tree that shows that Hirschel WACHSMANN was the father of Noah, Salomon and Mendel WACHSMANN. His wife's tombstone in Tost (now Toszek, Poland) says she is the wife of Hirschel bar Pincus and that her dates were 1792-1855. If the dates are correct, she would be too young to be the mother of Noah, Salomon and Mendel. Several children of all the brothers are called Pincus or Philip which I assume is after the patriarch, Pincus WACHSMANN, and in one document, Mendel's father is listed as Pincus. Therefore, I think Hirschel was not the father of the 3 boys, but another brother and that their father was Pincus. Can anyone clarify this relationship?

Hello Pumpeck, If these are the four sons of Pincus Wachsmann then the boys you mentioned have to come from one of them. It's difficult when the naming pattern repeats with every generation.

Noah Wachsmann 1792?1854 M. ?Loewy

I have to admit I'm not familiar with this family, I don't know what I'm doing. Lots of records. The hard part is putting them in order. Glad it's you! Jan
