Thank you for your reply and apologies for my tardy response. Am in hospital with a shattered ankle and have only just seen this message. One of the things i am trying to find out is how and when he cam to Australia. There is some talk he came with his mother as v young child which may make sense as his father died about a year after hi birth in cornwall. I
cannot verify and can find no evidence of an arrival at any age. I assume he came by ship but don't know. His mother may also have married again so that throws another angle. I dont really know - am just trying to think of any possibilities. Francis married an Emily/ Margaret Allen- father Duke Thomas Allen, in Australia. cannot verify marr date from here but think it was around 1873/4. My grandfather - the eldest child, was born at McGuigans Lead, registration district Parkes,NSW Australia in 1875. All i know of whete they lived is from where subsequent chilred wete born but dont have that info to hand here

Took a bit of time to find the marriage because the spelling of HINGSTON was recorded under HINGETON.
