I am researching this person for my son in law. It is one of his ancestors. I believe that we have found that the father of this person is Hayward Marshall. Still possible that his middle or first name could have been William.... still researching.
Oddly, I do show Daniel Boone to be in my family history. Just thought it would be cool if these two families had crossed paths all those years ago!

As per my original post, I know that my Marshall died in Illinois.... His is the one on FAG. I do know, per an Illinois census, that my John Whitson Marshall was born in Tennessee, as per my original post.
