Do you have any info other than the marriage, dates places of birth, parents names.

If you do not have no more info I would suggest getting the marriage cert. this should show the fathers names & occupations. It should also show Joseph and Lily's ages and maybe their occupations.

I do know that Joseph was a Railway Guard and that he and Lily divorced in 1910-11.
Could you advise where I might go obtain a marriage certificate? If I can get parents names from that, it could help me to go further back.
I took this up in 2010 when my father passed away.... I knew he had tried to find information out but didn't get far.
