Looking for Brenan in NZ

Query by Eyersh

I am trying to locate anything about my ggg grandmother Sarah Brenan and her family who came to New Zealand on the Ernestina in 1865. The family according to ships records consist of: Father: Edward Brenan Mother: Fanny/Frances (nee Carpenter) Children - William, Mary, Henry, Richard, Fanny, Joseph and Lyndon. Sarah Brenan married my ggg grandfather Nixon Scott in New Plymouth, New Zealand in 1873 but I cannot locate any details of the Brennan family to link them together. Sarah Brenan's brother Joseph was a successful businessman in Paeroa and it would appear that the family may have lived in that area.

hi Eyersh,

what details are you hoping to locate to 'link them together'

I have her marrying Nixon in 1873 and having 10 children ?? but I don't have her date of death yet

Hi Ngaire

Sarah Brenan was only 19yrs old when she married my ggg grandfather and the wedding took place in New Plymouth. I cannot find anything about the family after they arrived in NZ 1865 and where they lived in the intervening years. Nixon Scott was a constable in Dargaville so they lived there for some years.
For your info Sarah Scott (nee Brenan) died on 11 June 1909 aged 55yrs and is buried in Auckland.
I have my family tree on Ancestory.com if you are interested in viewing it.
Thanks for responding

Thanks
