Hansen / Anderson/ Saward
I have a story in my family of one of my great grandmothers sisters having lost her leg.
I have found articles in New zealand news papers including Southland Times August 28 1882. I believe this accident was her sister Christina. My grandmother was also called Christina I believe named after her.
Other articles in the NZ Papers say she died from jumping off a tram. Had her leg amputated & died 5 days later
She is buried in Eastern Cemetry Home Services A-ZCemeteriesCemetery search

So I was able to find her parents buried with her. I never knew their names until I found this.
I have now found that Hans Hansen had the New River Ferry & Hotel.
I would be very pleased to hear from anyone who is related to my relatives
