My 2 x gggmother Anna Maria BELL b. 1836, County Cork, Ireland, immigrated to South Australia in 1855.
I am unable to find a Birth certificate for her in Ireland.
She married twice in South Australia.
On her 1st marriage certificate to frederick Parker, she gives her father as Patrick Bell.
On her 2nd marriage certificate to Peter Handrakin she gives her father as George BELL.
She was widowed twice and had 11 children, all in South Australia.
I beleive she came out to Aust in the ship 'Australia' in 1855 with a companion at aged 19 years.
I have been unable to find her in SA passenger lists. I have been told it could be that Port Adelaide was not the first port of call for that ship, as that could be why I cannot find her name there.

janilye on 2014-07-28 07:04:32The Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners chartered this Government emigrant ship which arrived in Adelaide on the 22 January 1856 after a passage of 100 days from Plymouth.
The total number of immigrants, of all ages, landing in Adelaide was precisely as at the embarkation;
There were six births and the like number of deaths during the voyage.
The deaths (among the young children) were chiefly attributed to illness caused by teething.
