Elder of South Australia
I am looking for the descendants of James Elder and Amy Ann Smith who arrived in Adelaide in 1849 aboard the Sir Edward Parry.

Hi Suemarks
I am a descendant, james and amy's daughter edith married john Larsson and their daughter clara married gilbert asser and their daughter Pauline is my mother.
I have been researching the family tree over the years but lots of interruptions and also stuck on the Minchin line and the Larsson line. Where do you fit in to the tree please?
Chris
Sorry Sue missed a generation there james and amy's daughter amey married Edward james and their daughter is edith!
I am researching this tree for my Aunty who is descended from James and Amy's son Thomas. It has been quite an experience and I am still finding lots of information. I was most pleased to find James' ancestors but I can find nothing much on Amy. This, for me, has been one of the more interesting trees I have done in my 40 odd years of genealogy.
Unfortunately I don't have many dates from the South Australian group but am still working on it.
Cheers Sue
This would be Thomas that married Amelia Ninnis? I am a descendant of Amelia's eldest brother William Ninnis. I am happy to help in anyway I can about the Ninnis side of the family but I don't know much about the Elder's yet.
Kerrilee
Yes Kerrilee Thomas did marry Amelia. My Aunty is descended from their second eldest child, Thomas, who married Martha Jane Baldwin. Their son Leslie Thomas Elder is my Aunty's father.
By the way I would be happy to share what I have with you. I don't have a lot but together we might fill in some gaps. Cheers Sue
Great! I'm new to this site....how do I message you further? So far I have a group of other Ninnis descendants connected but no one from Amelia's line. Do you know if there are any photographs of Amelia and Thomas Elder?
you can email me on handbrake@outlook.com.au
