McRae family

HI, looking for help with my husbands family. I have a Duncan McRae married in 1911 to Isabella Mary MacDonald, daughter of Hugh MacDonald Lyttleton. I am having trouble finding any information on Duncan apart from their marriage record. They had a son Gordon, daughter, Floris and Leah Evelyn. I have found their birth records for the girls thanks to another member but nothing on Gordon and nothing further on Duncan. He may have been either a farmer or possibly connected to the Hokonui McRaes. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks

Buried at Riverside Cemetery, Masterton with his wife Mavis Evaline Burrell (and unnamed child)

Isabella Mary lived Pomahaka Married
1935 - Dunedin South, Otago
Duncan lived 17 West Avenue Labourer
Gordon McDonald lived 17 West Avenue Carpenter
Leah Evelyn lived 10 Driver St Spinster (lived with Evelyn Mary & Peter McTainsh. Still there in 1938
1935 - 1949 - Dunedin Central, Otago
Isabella Mary McRae
lived 137 Rattray Street Married (no husband on electoral list the whole time she lived there)
1942 - WWII Ballot lists
Gordon McDonald McRae lived Greenwood Street, Motueka Carpenter
1957 26 Bannister St, Masterton
Gordon McDonald & Mavis Evaline - Bridge Builder
In 1946 Leah Evelyn was living at 15 Hawker Street, Mt Victoria, Wellington
I would suggest you purchase Gordon's death printout. This may list any previous relationships and issue (depending on whether his wife or children were aware of his previous issue). If you are convinced that this is the Gordon McDonald McRae you are looking for I would then purchase the marriage printout of Duncan and Isabella Mary to confirm their parents.

I do think this may be the Gordon that we are looking for, we will take it further and will get the death and marriage printouts, as they are our only leads and they just may provide another thread we can look into. TamaraLee on 2016-04-06 07:20:58Gordon Is My Grandad..His Parents Duncan and Isabella are my Great Grandparents..Your Husbands Dad Gavin will be the 15th Child of Gordons as Grandad McRae has 14 other children :)and depending on his age..and from what I know..May well be the oldest of all Gordons children..wowser lol
