I am researching my family of Thomson's.
My Grandfather was John Thomson, born in Birkenhead England, July 1857 or 1858.
He was a seaman and came to Australia prior to 1900.
He was posted to Port Fairy

My grandmothers name was Annie Walker, born in Belfast in 1868.
The parents of John Thomson were John Thomson and Elizabeth Nickol.
John Thomson was in Australia before he married Annie Walker.

The year of marriage is the same as information I already have.
If this is the correct person do you have any information as to when he first came to Australia.
