DEATH.
Name: John ALLENDER.
Died: 1926.
Place: Cheltenham, Victoria.
Age: 82 years.
Father: John ALLENDER.
Mother: Mary Ann TURNER.
Ref: Registry of Deaths, Victoria. Reg. #13294.
You have John's death as 1926 at 'places unknown' so this may be of some help. I think it's safe to say the informant named the wrong mother.
MARRIAGE.
Groom: John ALLENDER.
Birth place: Salop. (Shropshire UK)
Bride: Mary Ann TURNER.
Birth place: London.
Year married: 1868.
Place: Victoria.
Ref: Registry of Marriages, Victoria. Reg. #3823.
Marriage certificate may name parents.
Had a quick look at the Civil Birth Registrations for England and Wales 1837-1915 and came up with this birth.
Name: John ALLENDER.
Registration Quarter: July August September 1844.
Registration District: Bridgnorth.
Inferred County: Shropshire.
Volume: 18.
Page: 27.
Not sure if this is your John but the year and place seems to fit so it's a start.
Thank you tonkin..... This info is very helpful and much appreciated.
Further to my request for information relating to the parents of John ALLENDER, I have discovered the following notes attributed to him in my Family Tree Maker files:
A Victorian Police Gazette for Sept 15th 1897 reports that a bridle was stolen from a stable at 13 Dawson St., South Ballarat, owned by a John Allender, tailor. There is a death registration for a Jno Allender for 1926 at Cheltenham and his age was given as 82 which made his birth around 1844. The notice indicated that his father was Jno & mother Mary Ann Turner which is an error because Mary Anne was his wife.He is absent from the 1914, 1919 & 1924 Electoral Rolls. There is a death for a John Allender in 1892 at East Melbourne which would tend to support the reason for Mary Ann Turner stating her next-of-kin to be her mother in the 1914 Elctoral Roll.
DEATH.
Name: John ALLENDER.
Died: 1892.
Place: Melbourne East, Victoria.
Age: 38 years.
Father: Henry ALLENDER.
Mother: Emma ATKINS.
Ref: Registry of Deaths, Victoria. Reg. #11173.
If John's age of 38 years at time of death is correct it means he was born circa 1854.
This indicates John was about 14 years old when he married Mary Ann TURNER in 1868.
Death certificate should name wife and children if known to informant.
DEATH.
Name: Mary Ann ALLENDER.
Died: 1934 Coburg, Victoria.
Age: 85 years.
Father: Francis TURNER.
Mother: Hannah unknown.
Ref: Registry of Deaths, Victoria. Reg. #6377.
Mary born circa 1849 and would have been about 19 years old when she married John ALLENDER in 1868.
I suppose it's possible John was only 14 years old when married but he would have bumped his age up a few years.
Brilliant!
Thank you tonkin for resolving this issue and providing some very interesting additional details.
Kind regards, Ian Malik

With respect to the father of Francis John Lathbury TURNER, my records indicate that he was John Lathbury TURNER b.1784 at Exeter, Devon, England. d.12 Jan 1832 at Calcutta, West Bengal, India.
Yes and the parents of John Lathbury TURNER were William TURNER and Jane LATHBURY. His wife Mary PASCOE
