Tennant Family of Briggate
This is an interesting and well researched pedigree dating back to the 1690s. One or two corrections. Rev. William Tennant married Ann Feetham (not Freetham). She was a daughter of Thomas Feetham, a coal merchant of Weybridge. She had three brothers, John, Thomas Oliver and Rev. William Feetham, vicar of Penrhos, Raglan, Mon. and two sisters, Mary m. Lt.Col. Samuel Cox of Beaminster and Elizabeth m.Henry Yool.
Rev. William Tennant & Ann had three daughters. Angela Mary (d.1902 to whom a chapel at St. Stephens Curch Rochester Row, Westminster is dedicated). Margaret Ann d. ca 1940. Elizabeth Maria m. Rev. George Miller vicar of Holy Trinity, Pimlico.(destroyed in the blitz). Rev. William Tennant was the first vicar of St.Stephens after it was built by Baroness Burnett Coutts in the 1850s. There is still a bust of him in the church.
Rev. George Miller & Elizabeth had seven children. Agatha Tennant Miller m. Rev.Thomas Beckett vicar of Over, Cambs. (no issue), Angela TM (unmarried), Dorothea TM m. Dr. Frederick Pershouse. William TM, Paul TM (unmarried), Ambrose TM d.1893 aet. 8 and Christopher ( died young).
Dorothea & Frederick had one daughter Doris Elizabeth who married (1944) her cousin William Lloyd-Smith (grandson of Rev. William Feetham above). Two children Sarah L-S & Alan L-S.
