William Carey Thompson was born in 1851/2 in Cheltenham Gloucester mother Harriet, father Thomas, brothers Thomas and William, father probably born in Buckingham. In 1881 Census Thomas (William's father) was at 2 Hungerford St Cheltenham? with granddaughter Clara J.Fountain.

1881 Census UK William Carey Fountain married (1) Emma and had Thomas, Kate, Harriet and Alice Fountain, resident 98 Cattel Rd Aston Warwick. Emma must have died ? giving birth to Charles Guy Fountain who was born in Aston Warwick and maarried Mary (aka Polly) from Embsay yorkshire (dob 1870). William was a coach finisher/cabinet maker and worked on the trains. He went on to father Ernest, Gertrude, Harry (had crippled leg) and Marian. William A his son was also a coach finisher (railways), Thomas a labourer.

In 1911 they lived at 69 Vine Street Newton Heath Manchester.

Charles Guy Fountain married Nellie Florence Carr from bethnal Green, whose family tree I have in total. Their only child Irene Patricia (my mother) was born 17/3/1921 and in 1926 they emigrated to New Zealand.

I am interesting in finding out more about this Fountain family as Charles Guy Fountain was my grandfather. I have been in contact with one family who are descendants but would like to find the rest of the siblings' families. My mother maintained that there was an Irish connection but currently I cannot find this. I have gone back as far as Thomas who appears to have been born in Buckingham and was a gatekeeper (presumably at one of the castles?) and in 1881 he was a domestic servant.
