I am related to Joseph Ellis who came to America from England in about 1760 and settled in Norfolk, VA. Joseph Ellis married a Miss Campbell, their children were: James C.,Margaret, Robert Nicholas, and John Eli Ellis who married Elizabeth Wright, who are my ggg grandparents. They lived in Due West, SC. and raised seventeen children there. Their third child Polly Ann is my great grandmother. She married Zachariah Haddon. My grandmother, Alpha Omega Haddon married Frank Leslie Riley, their son James Autrey Riley is my father.

I'm not sure when my Joseph Ellis came over, but his son Stephen, from whom I am descended, was born in 1776 in VA. His other children were: John, Joseph, William, Sara (Sally), Thomas, Richard, and Elizabeth. Wife may have been Sarah Hugg. Stephen was my great-great-great-grandfather.
