Peebles family originally in Georgia settled Neshoba Cty, Mississippi
My grandfather Claude Peebles Sr of Philadelphia, MS born abt 1896
married Martha Roberta Ray Peebles of Neshoba Cty, MS born 1896
had 15 children, all were raised to adulthood.
Claude Sr. was son of Thomas Jefferson "Tommie" Peebles of Neshoba, Cty, MS and Mariah Deweese Peebles of Neshoba Cty, MS.
Tommie aka T.J. Peebles was a Methodist Minister, Spring Hill Methodist Church, Neshoba Cty MS.
Mariah Deweese was daughter of Joseph Deweese, decendants of founders of Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia area orginally of the Netherlands and of Congregational "Quaker" faith.
T.J. Peebles was son of Joseph Peebles orginally from Marion Cty, Georgia area. Joseph married Mary Elizabeth no last name known, while in Georgia. Elizabeth was possibly of Creek or Cherokee ethnicity.
Joseph was the son of Issac "Ike" Peebles of Marion Cty Georgia area. Ike was a school teacher. Ike married Phoebe Hart desendent of John Hart, Possible the John Hart who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Ike was the son of Thomas Peebles and Patsy Lockhart Peebles. I am searching for Thomas' lineage; possibly Capt. David Peebles, of Scotland who settled Virginia.
