From what I have been able to gather from Christine's oldest son, Bobbie Jean was g-grandfather's step granddaughter not his blood daughter. The four cousins(Christine's children) recall g-grandfather Garrett, Sr stating he had many brothers and sisters. He came to Hartsville, SC after working for a Caucasian woman in Abbeville, South Carolina and began to work for William E. Tillotson as a chef. Then he worked for the Arcade Hotel in Hartsville, SC and my cousins recall my G-Grandfather Garrett Freeman, Sr working in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and that is where he passed away in or about 1960. My grandfather Garrett, Jr passed away in 1964 in Buffalo, NY. My great aunt Christine Freeman Bull passed away in 1965. My family and I would all appreciate any information, photos,and/or memories anyone can provide about Garrett Freeman, Sr and his family of Abbeville County, South Carolina. Also any information on my grandfather Garrett Freeman, Jr since he and my grandmother seperated when my mother was two years old and all my grandmother's photos of Garrett Jr were burned up in the house fire. I know that he was born on July 26 in Hartsville, SC and that he had a light to medium brown skin tone. He was tall and slender. According to his death Certificate, he was buried in the Lakeshore Cementery in, Hamsburg, NY.
