Hello dide,
there is a forum here SKIPWORTH about the ones that emigrated to New Zealand

If you check on BIRTH DEATH & MARRIAGES there are about 29 Skipworths there

There are also about 29 Skipworths on ALL RESOURCES

In the 1901 census there was a George Skipworth who was then 32 - he was from Lancashire

Don't know what area of NZ you were concentrating on but there are 7 Skipworths buried in DUNEDIN CEMETERY

There are also 7 Skipworths in CHRISTCHURCH CEMETERY

If you want to check Australian burials there are 133 SKIPWORTHS

The story of the Tainui Te Waka is a great story that needs to be passed down through every generation.

In Māori tradition, Tainui was the name of one of the great ocean-going canoes in which Polynesians migrated to New Zealand, approximately 800 years ago.
The Tainui waka was named for an infant who did not survive childbirth. At the burial site of this child, at a place in Hawaiki known then as Maungaroa, a great tree grew; this was the tree that was used to build the ocean canoe.
